Mastering: the final touch

Mastering begun as the transfer process from magnetic tape to a final vinyl master ready for pressing copies. The mastering engineers stared using EQ on the final mix to optimize and enhance it, moving to dynamic processing and more as time progressed. Eventually, to be pedantic, mastering and premastering separated, with premastering now involving the musical post processing of the final mix and mastering being the creation of the final master medium (e.g. a master CD or DDP) but for simplicity’s sake, we’ll refer to both as mastering.

At Tube Studio we offer  complete mastering services for any kind of music. It is the final touch to make the mix shine, pump and widen and bring it up to commercial level loudness. It is also needed to give an album homogeneity, especially if every song was recorded or mixed differently. Depending on the needs of the music, it might involve EQing, compression and limiting as well as harmonic distortion and saturation. Last but not least, we offer the creation of a final DDP (a digital master form) ready to be printed which will include music info to be displayed such as Artist, Composer, Track name etc. Finally we are certified provide you with an ISRC for every song or work.
