Mixing: is it an art form or science?

For us it’s both! Mixing is as essential to getting the character and feel you need for your song as recording. Every genre, every song has it’s own character, it’s own thing to say to the world and it’s our job to nurture it instead of getting into it’s way. Therefore, for us, every little tweak of an eq, every compression, every little reverb tail or delay repetition has it’s reason for happening, all of them working together to shape the individual tracks that were recorded into one cohesive, vibrant piece of music. And every piece must and will receive it’s own unique processing.

But all the aforementioned artistic process cannot happen unless you have the correct tools: every piece of gear imparts it’s own tone wherever it is used and is selected for that specific reason. We use a collection of both hardware analog gear as well as the best plugins on the market and all are operated by engineers with years on experience on almost all genres of music.
